Better Homes.

Energy Star is Only the Beginning.

Energy Star is where Capstone starts. Many builders stop right there. Capstone goes further.

Our homes are built with 2×6 exterior walls- framed 16” On Center (O.C.). We use a 3-Stud Corner to maximize insulation. Some builders use walls with 24” O.C. walls or 2×4 walls- Capstone chooses a stronger wall. Our homes may lose some efficiency (about 1%), but Capstone thinks an over-built structure is a better value.
Capstone also uses engineered floor joists in our homes. Our I-Level TJI floor joists use engineered top and bottom chords. Other “engineered” wood product use traditional lumber top and bottoms, and these less expensive floor joists can crown, bow, or crack as the traditional wood dries. Some builders also still use traditional lumber for floor joists. Capstone does not. We also use moisture resistant subflooring that is anchored with screws to prevent squeaks. Our exterior sheathing is the advanced ZIP Wall System. The ZIP system (Green Board) seals the home far more effectively than traditional house wrap.Capstone takes our solid structure and adds Low-E, Argon filled windows and lifetime architectural shingles. All Capstone Homes are built to last and perform as your Delaware beach home for years to come. Capstone wants to build your house so that you never have to call our dedicated service department.

We dare you to shop around and find another builder with our quality at our price.

Built Responsibly

What is one of the most effective ways to build an energy efficient home? Easy- keep outside air from getting in.

Capstone installs a Blown-In-Blanket-System (BIBS) of fiberglass insulation. The BIBS give a Capstone Home an insulation value of R-23 in our walls, which is 77% better than Energy Star requirements.

Capstone also seals the entire home with a draft stop air seal to block air from leaking.
A Capstone Home is built upon a conditioned crawlspace (or basement), which increases the efficiency and comfort of the entire home while reducing the chance for excessive humidity in the foundation.
